Established: November 2018

Developed by: Calhoun FFA Chapter

Purpose: The Calhoun FFA Chapter recognized a need in the county for families to get assistance with food.

Goal: No child within the school district to go hungry.

History:  The first food drive took place in Fall of 2018, with the help of Brad Hagen and the Grafton Oyster Bar.  They donated 55 turkeys.  That combined with many other donations enabled us to make 55 food baskets for families within the district.  In December 2018, we also made food boxes for each family that received presents from the Indian Creek Angel Tree Christmas tree.  In 2019, we helped 62 families at Christmas and are still assisting those within the community.  Members of the student body and teachers help out with the St. Louis food bank when it delivers on the first Wednesday of the month.
